Peekawhoo: A Labor of Love (and Midnight Epiphanies)

PeekawhooA while back, Heather shot up in the middle of the night when the name “Peekawhoo” came to her.

You know how that is, when you finally remember the name of the song by Debbie Gibson that you loved so much as a child (Electric Youth), or the last name of the boy from your graduating class that worked at the Chic-fil-a up the road from your high school (Carroll), or the name of the character who broke your heart-and Eponine’s- in Les Miserables (Marius). It’s an epiphany, a moment of clarity, an instant when all the synapses are finally firing in the correct sequence. It usually happens at inopportune times, like the middle of the night. We’ve all been there, and the wise ones write things down like Heather did.

I don’t do this, so by the morning I’ve forgotten everything I’ve so brilliantly remembered the night before.

But Heather thankfully wrote it down and thus remembered, so here we are months later, bringing Peekawhoo out of our minds and hearts and into yours. There have been a lot of late nights, a lot of brainstorms, a lot of cutting and sewing and drawing and ordering and meeting and writing and deciding, a lot of caffeine.

We’re so glad you’re here to be a part of Peekawhoo’s journey, and we hope you’ll stop by often and check in on what’s happening with our shop and in our lives.

Thanks for joining us!
